9 K-Content Coming to Netflix in December 2023

K-drama fans will have a lot of new K-content to watch out for this December 2023 on Netflix.

K-drama fans have a lot of reasons to celebrate this holiday season. Aside from the Christmas celebrations, several K-drama series will be coming to Netflix next month, including the much-awaited Sweet Home Season 2 and Single’s Inferno Season 3. Not only that, but viewers will also see Han So Hee and Park Seo Joon on one screen together in the horror series Gyeonseong Creature. Are you getting excited already? Here are the nine new K-content coming to Netflix in December 2023.

1 True Beauty

Fans can now see Moon Ga Young, Cha Eun Woo, Hwang In Youp, and Park Yoo Na’s 2020 K-drama, True Beauty, on Netflix. Based on the Line Webtoon of the same name by Yaongyi, the show tackles bullying and discrimination.

It follows the story of the high school student Lim Ju Kyung (Moon Ga Young), who is often bullied and discriminated against due to her looks, which many perceive as ugly. So, to change her appearance, she masters the art of makeup and transforms herself into a beautiful goddess. Originally released on tvN on December 9, 2020, the show ended on February 4, 2021, and is now available to stream on Netflix.

2 Happiness

The 2021 thriller Happiness has also made its way to Netflix. Produced by Studio Dragon, the show stars Han Hyo Joo, Park Hyung Sik, and Jo Woo Jin. The apocalyptic, suspenseful horror takes place in a time when infectious diseases have become a norm. Set in the near future, a worldwide pandemic begins when a failed treatment drug called Next turns into a virus named Lytta Virus, aka mad person disease. Everyone infected will feel insane and thirst for blood, slowly turning them into a zombie-like state.

The show originally premiered on tvN on November 5, 2021, and aired until December 11, 2021. It can now be streamed on Netflix and other services, like Viki, Viu, and iQIYI, in select territories.

3 Melancholia

Another 2021 K-drama will be available to stream on Netflix, and this one is something special. A special project for the 15th anniversary of tvN, Melancholia, is about the scandals and corruption in private schools in Gangnam. It features the stars Im Soo Jung, Lee Do Hyun, Jin Kyung, and Jang Hyun Sung and is directed by Kim Sang Hyeob.

Melancholia follows the story of the math teacher Ji Yoon Soo (Soo Jung), who gets entangled in a malicious scandal with her student, Baek Seung Yoo (Lee Do Hyun). The scandal created rumors, which led to Yoon Soo’s firing. But four years after the incident, the two meet again and go on a fight to expose the corruption at the prestigious private Ahseong High School and reclaim Yoon Soo’s good name. The series aired on November 10, 2021, and ran until December 30, 2021, on tvN. It’s now available on Netflix.

4 Secret Royal Inspector & Joy

Another tvN special 15th-anniversary project that can be streamed on Netflix is Secret Royal Inspector & Joy. Led by Ok Taec Yeon and Kim Hye Yoon, it tells the story of a young gourmet who becomes a royal inspector during the Joseon dynasty. However, he ends up divorcing a woman desperately looking for happiness but still works together to investigate and expose corrupt politicians.

The show aired on tvN from November 8 to December 8, 2021, with 16 episodes. It’s now available on Netflix, iQIYI, and Viu in select territories.

5 Sweet Home Season 2

Finally, after three years, the story of the fight between the monsters and humans will continue in Sweet Home Season 2. With Song Kang in the lead as Cha Hyun Soo, he will be joined by the first season’s original stars, Lee Jin Wook, Lee Si Young, Park Gyu Young, and Go Min Si.

After leaving the Green Home apartment, the fight will be taken to the outside world, as all survivors are now together at a baseball stadium. But aside from the monsters, humans also become a great threat to everyone. Sweet Home Season 2 will be released on Netflix on December 1, 2023.

6 Welcome to Samdal-Ri

A new JTBC K-drama will soon be seen on Netflix. Directed by Kwon Hye Joo and written by Kwon Hye Joo, Welcome to Samdal-ri features the K-drama favorites Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun. The series tells the story of friendship, love, and dreams as two people who strongly oppose each other end up rekindling their past romance.

Samdal-ri is scheduled to premiere on JTBC on December 2 and will be released every Saturday and Sunday. It can also be streamed on the same days on Netflix.

7 Single’s Inferno Season 3

A new batch of male and female singles will join Single’s Inferno Season 3 to find the love that they’re looking for. However, compared to the first two seasons, the rules are about to change here, as the hellish island will have a major makeover.

Paradise won’t just be a luxurious resort this time but a special and intimate place where the couples will have a chance to get to know each other more and take their romance to another level. Also, it will see a former second-season contestant, Dex, as part of the panelists, along with the original Super Junior's Kyuhyun, Lee Da-hee, Hong Jin-kyung, and Hanhae. Single’s Inferno Season 3 will be released on December 12 on Netflix.

8 Like Flowers in Sand

Another new K-drama that will hit Netflix is Like Flowers in Sand, starring Jang Dong Yoon, Lee Ju Myoung, Yoon Jong Seok, Kim Bo Ra, Lee Jae Joon, and Lee Joo Seung. Directed by Kim Jin Woo and written by Won Yoo Jung, it will see the lives of young adults who will find it hard to be successful while in the Ssireum city of Geosan.

Like Flowers in Sand will be released on December 20, 2023, on ENA every Wednesday and Thursday. It will then be available to stream on Netflix.

9 Gyeongseong Creature

For the first time, Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee will be working together in the new K-drama Gyeongseong Creature, along with Soo Hyun, Kim Hae Sook, Jo Han Chul, and Wi Ha Joon. The show will feature the darkest era of Gyeongseong, Seoul’s old name, during the spring of 1945. It will depict the story of the people fighting between life and death at the border and see two young adults face a creature born of greed as they battle for survival.

Gyeongseong Creature will be divided into two parts, with the first part scheduled for release on December 22, 2023, with seven episodes. The second part, composed of the last three remaining episodes, will be released on January 5, 2024, on Netflix.
