Marvel and Star Wars will be conquering your TV viewing on Disney+ this February 2024. Though these two biggest franchises in the entertainment scene today lack movie releases this year, with only Deadpool 3 set to hit the big screen in July, they will take the spotlight with these four TV shows releasing this month. After Maya Lopez showed what she got in Echo, here’s what you’ll see next.
1 Marvel: Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Season 2
After being announced on October 8, 2022, Lunella Lafayette is finally back in Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Season 2. After Lunella brings a dinosaur back into the world, the two work as superheroes. However, with the consequences of being a superhero and keeping her identity a secret, Lunella now thinks of the toll it takes on her personal life and family.
The series features the voices of Diamond White as Lunella, Fred Tatasciore as Devil Dinosaur, and Alfre Woodard as Mimi, with Cobie Smulders reprising her role as Maria Hill from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster from Ant-Man and the Wasp. Developed by Steve Loter, Jeffrey M. Howard, and Kate Kondell, the third season started streaming on February 3.
2 Marvel: Spider and His Amazing Friends Season 3
Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, and Miles Morales have finally swung back in Spider and His Amazing Friends Season 3. After over a year of waiting, the new season will finally wrap up the Web-Spinner story arc, which was featured in the previous season’s final episodes, followed by the new arc, Dino-Webs, where a new set of heroes and villains will be introduced.
This time, fans are about to meet White Tiger (Kylie Cantrall), Lizard (Bumper Robinson), and Trapster (Deva Marie Gregory). Of course, Alkaio Thiele, Audrey Bennet, and Jakari Fraser return to reprise their roles as Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, and Miles Morales, respectively. Though the new season was already released on Disney Channel on January 8, it’s set to be released on Disney+ sometime this February.
3 Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures
Fans are about to see six new episodes of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures after it premiered on Disney+ and Disney Junior for the franchise’s May the Fourth Celebrations in 2023. According to the series’ website, these new episodes will complete the Emmy-winning first season after introducing the young Jedis from the High Republic era. Specially made for young viewers, it will see the return of Kai Brightstar (Jamaal Avery Jr.), Lys Solay (Juliet Donenfeld), and Nubs (Dee Bradley Baker).
The group will go to the wilds of Tenoo for a wilderness training exercise. From there, they will travel to Batuu to meet the Jedi on Black Spire Outpost and return to the Starlight Beacon to meet several Star Wars: The High Republic characters, like Bell Zettifar (Marcus Scribner), Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic Lina Soh (Justine Lee), Master Maru (Liam O'Brien), and more. The new episodes are set to be released on February 14.
4 Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3
After a long wait, Lucasfilm has finally released the trailer for the much-awaited Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3. The preview has set the stage for the series' final season, featuring the action-packed adventure of Clone 99 and the surprising return of the villain Asajj Ventress. For their last outing, the group has to save Omega from the Empire.
Dee Bradley Baker returns to voice all five members of the Bad Batch: Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair, and Echo. He’s joined by Michelle Ang, Wanda Sykes, and Ming-Na Wen as Omega, Phee Genoa, and Fennec Shand, respectively. The Bad Batch Season 3 is set to be released on February 21.
Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm will keep their fans entertained despite the lack of new movies. With these new series they’re about to see this month, they will continuously see their favorite universes play out.
