
Konami Digital Entertainment has officially launched the first episode of a new short anime web series called Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES that features narratives and characters of the popular trading card game within the mixed media franchise. The new web series is streaming on the "Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Channel" on YouTube, with a new episode being released every month. Episode 1 is centered on the "Sky Striker Ace - Raye" storyline and will continue through May 2025.
The first episode features the voice actors Anna Nagase and Nene Hieda who play the roles of Raye and Roze, respectively. To counter the great powers surrounding the mighty empire, the "Sky Striker" was developed using advanced military technology. Its power was enough to instantly change the course of battle. The girl "Raye," entrusted with the "Sky Striker," repeatedly encounters the girl "Roze" from the hostile nation wielding equal power on the battlefield. Each time they clash with the "Sky Striker," Raye gradually gets a glimpse of the "human heart" within Roze and rises up to free her! To meet Roze not as a "weapon" but as a "person"---
KONAMI animation is producing the animated shorts. In February 2024, Konami revealed the new studio, coinciding with the release of a Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES anime short to celebrate the card game's 25th anniversary.
Shin Yoshida and Naohito Miyoshi's Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Stories manga debuted in Shueisha's V Jump magazine in April 2022, featuring the Sky Strikers arc centered on Sky Striker Ace - Raye, who fights to protect her family. This storyline concluded in October 2023.
The Madō Taisen-hen (Magical War arc) of Shin Yoshida and Naohito Miyoshi's Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Stories manga will begin serialization in the magazine's next issue on May 21. The manga runs alongside the Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Structures manga, launched by Masashi Sato in June 2019, which is also tied to the franchise's Official Card Game (OCG).
The latest anime in the franchise, Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!!, is the eighth main series. It premiered in April 2022, entered its third year in April 2024, and concluded on March 30.
