Blizzard’s goal was to develop a 3D MMO game when they created World of Warcraft, and since then, the game has been a staple of MMORPGs. Regardless of how successful the game or its universe is, World of Warcraft has never been known for participating in crossovers.

However, this year, gamers experienced the collaboration of World of Warcraft with Diablo 4, making a familial crossover between the two Blizzard games. Even though collaboration in WoW doesn’t occur often, players see the opposite in Fortnite. The Epic Games’ battle royale game has collaborated with many brands, such as Assassin’s Creed, Marvel, and Dragon Ball.

In Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3, gamers saw the return of The Witcher with brand-new cosmetics along with crossovers with Nike and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, the newest movie in the franchise. Recently, a new rumor hinted that World of Warcraft might be crossing over with Epic Games' battle royale since references to Fortnite appeared in the 10.1.7 PTR patch.

The leaker, known as Wowhead, leaked that he found eight spells that reference Fortnite, like the Glug Jug that restores full health when taken by the player. The spell also references the Slurp Juice, which is one of Fortnite’s most popular items that helps restore players’ health once consumed. There is one more spell called The Storm, which is used to deal some nature damage to players who aren’t within its target. This spell is one of Fortnite's major gameplay mechanics.

Currently, we are unsure as to how this collaboration between World of Warcraft and Fortnite would play out. However, remember that it is only a rumor and should not be taken seriously, as it might not even take place.

No further information was given regarding the crossover between World of Warcraft and Fortnite, but the idea sounds pretty interesting to bring two completely different games together. Nevertheless, this collaboration might be a good idea for World of Warcraft to attract some new players to the game since it has been around for a while now and needs to keep things interesting.

World of Warcraft is available to play on PC.
