Wind Breaker Trailer Reveals Release Date, Additional Cast and Theme Songs

Haruka Sakura is ready to be the hero that his town deserves in Wind Breaker.

The story of Haruka Sakura will soon hit the small screen. The anime adaptation of Wind Breaker is now gearing up for its nearing release after dropping its main trailer, showing the start of Haruka’s fight to be the hero his town needs. But aside from giving a glimpse of the adventure Haruka is about to begin, the preview also reveals additional cast members, its opening and ending themes, and its release date of April 4, 2024.

The new Wind Breaker trailer starts with an action-packed scene as Haruka tells his enemy to remember his face and name. He also warns that weak people should avoid him while the strong ones should find him while comparing himself to the wind. As he takes on the street, he tries to explain that he hates people who pretend to be strong when they’re really weak.

From there, Akihiko Urui appears, reminding Haruka that high school isn’t just about the university. It’s followed by the appearance of Kyotaro Sugishita with a dangerous look, ready to face Haruka. As the battle between the two begins, Haruka shows who’s the strongest. The preview also features Kotoha Tachibana, the woman who works at a coffee shop and reprimands Haruka. But as one guy dares Haruka, the latter declares he doesn’t need anyone to be strong and promises to protect what’s important to him.

In addition, the anime has also released a new visual for Wind Breaker. The art features the sinister look of Haruka alongside his fellow first-year students Hajime Umemiya, Kyotaro, Akihiko, Junfei Su, and the third-year student Touma Hiiragi.

Who are the cast and staff of Wind Breaker?

The newly announced cast members of Wind Breaker are Kengo Kawanishi as Taiga Tsugeura, Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Mitsuki Kiryu, and Ikumi Hasegawa as Kotoha Tachibana. For other cast members, you can check the list below:

For the main staff, Toshifumi Akai (Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia) directs the anime, with Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen) as the series composer. It also includes Taishi Kawakami (Akebi's Sailor Uniform) as the character designer and Ryo Takahashi (Arifureta - From Commonplace to World's Strongest) as the music composer. natori performs its opening theme Zettai Reido (Absolute Zero) while Young Kee sings the ending theme Muteki (Unbeatable).

What is Wind Breaker about?

Wind Breaker tells the story of Haruka Sakura, who doesn’t want to get involved with weak people and only wants to face the strong ones. As he goes to Furrin High School, he meets dropout students known for their incredible strength. With the threat surrounding the town he lives in; Haruka stands out as the hero it deserves.

He’s from Fuurin High School, a school of near-dropout degenerates known only for their brawling strength. And in a town known for its territorial disputes, Haruka’s got only one goal—become the hero his town deserves.

 

The anime is based on the manga of the same title by Satoru Nii. It started its serialization in January 2021 and had collected 15 volumes as of January 2024. CloverWorks produced its anime adaptation.

Though fans can’t help but compare Wind Breaker to Tokyo Revengers with its familiar premise, many have already expressed excitement over seeing it play out on TV. That said, let’s see if this will surpass the success of Liden Films’ anime.
