Prime Video recently revealed some images from The Wheel of Time Season 2, giving us a sneak peek into the show. The first scene of the upcoming season was added to the last episode of the show’s Season 1 on August 2. The manner in which this sneak peek was released pays homage to The Wheel of Time books author Robert Jordan. In the novels, the author used to include the next book’s first chapter at the end of each book he wrote, offering a treat to his fans in advance.

The opening scene of Season 2’s first episode is called the Darkfriend Social prologue. With the first episode begins the events of Jordan’s second installment in The Wheel of Time novel, which is known as The Great Hunt. Season 2 of the show is based on this novel and will also include several elements from the author’s third novel, called The Dragon Reborn.

IGN shared a couple of images, out of which the first three are from the opening scene of the show’s Season 2. You can see all of the pictures below:

The Wheel of Time Season 1 ending

At the end of The Wheel of Time Season 1, we witnessed Rand al'Thor, played by Josha Stradowski, finally coming to terms with being the Dragon Reborn and accepting his role. Moiraine, played by Rosamund Pike, battles alongside Rand against the Dark One, in which Rand emerges victorious at a price.

Moiraine somehow loses her connection to the One Power, leaving her powerless, and a powerful lieutenant of the Dark One ends up escaping his imprisonment. Rand asks Moiraine to tell everyone that he died while he continues to live alone in solitude, figuring out a way to fight against evil and defeat the Dark One once and for all.

On the other hand, his allies have their own obstacles they must overcome and go on their separate missions. In Season 2, Egwene (Madeleine Madden) and Nynaeve (Zoë Robins) travel to the White Tower to train as initiates of the Aes Sedai. We can’t wait to see how Rand plans to overcome his loneliness and if Moiraine will get her connection with the One Power back!
