Netflix has released the trailer for Virgin River Season 5, and as the first batch of preview images teased, the hit romantic drama is about to get hot — literally.

The one-minute trailer begins with Jack (Martin Henderson) and Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) preparing for their baby before hinting that Mel’s high-risk pregnancy could mean quitting her job at Doc's (Tim Matheson) clinic. Of course, the trailer shows a lot of romance between Mel and Jack, but we also see Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) and Denny (Kai Bradbury) kissing, and we also get look at Preacher (Colin Lawrence) holding hands with a woman who resembles like Paige (Lexa Doig).

But matters of the heart take a backseat as the trailer shows a raging wildfire, and it looks like Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth) is caught up in what appears to be a hostage situation. Brie (Zibby Allen) is also seen taking the stand at a trial, speaking up for the real heroes of Virgin River. But Hope (Annette O'Toole) tells her neighbors, "we will rise from the ashes. That’s the power of Virgin River.”

“Season 5 of Virgin River features surprising new relationships, a shocking break-up, a difficult court trial, a heartbreaking goodbye, and a wildfire that threatens the town, bringing some people of Virgin River together while tearing others apart,” the official synopsis of Virgin River Season 5 teases. “Issues of motherhood push Mel to make a big decision about her future at the clinic while her pregnancy unexpectedly sparks an emotional connection to her past. To further prove himself to Mel, Jack squares off with some long-overdue confrontations—with his own demons, and of course, Charmaine. And as Doc and Hope’s respective impairments throw their identities into question, the doctor and the mayor must find solace in their community, in their young new family, and in each other.”
