Star Wars: Zero Company is an upcoming single-player turn-based tactics game set during the final days of the Clone Wars. In the title, players step into the shoes of Hawks, a customizable former Republic officer who leads the ragtag mercenary group known as Zero Company. Comedian and actor Vic Michaelis has now been revealed as part of the cast, voicing a key supporting character in the ambitious project developed by Bit Reactor with support from Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games.

As Bespin Bulletin recently pointed out, Vic Michaelis first mentioned their involvement in the project during a January interview, yet the detail appears to have gone largely unnoticed at the time. This week, the game’s art director, Daanish Syed, highlighted the information in a tweet, drawing attention to the casting. In the interview, Vic revealed they will be voicing the character Runa Blask.

Vic Michaelis confirmed that they will be playing Runa Blask in the game.

It’s been super busy. It’s been really fun. I am currently working on a video game that’s going to be coming out this year. I’m playing Roona in Star Wars: Zero Company , which the trailer’s out and that’ll be out this year. It’s been busy in the most beautiful, wonderful way.

Runa Blask is not a character that you can add in your squad but rather she is one of the main members of Zero Company that work in your headquarters, as confirmed by PC Gamer. The Togruta character is a former Separatist who was kicked from the group and now works for the Republic, offering snide remarks while managing the team’s finances from the company's base, known as The Den on the Ring of Kafrene.

Beyond the casting announcement, Star Wars: Zero Company stands out for its hybrid gameplay design that merges deep tactical strategy with expansive role-playing elements. Combat unfolds in turn-based sequences viewed from a dynamic third-person perspective, complete with cinematic cutscenes that enhance the dramatic weight of every decision. Permadeath mechanics ensure that fallen squad members are permanently lost, forcing players to weigh risks carefully during high-stakes missions on diverse planets. Between operations, players gain full third-person control of Hawks for immersive exploration, fostering a sense of place rarely seen in tactics titles. At the headquarters hub, interactions with fixed characters like Runa Blask drive the story forward, revealing personal backstories and unlocking narrative branches based on player choices.

The narrative draws heavily from the character-focused arcs of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series while incorporating the grounded political tension of Andor and the high-stakes espionage of Rogue One. Hawks and the Zero Company team must navigate uneasy alliances between former Republic and Separatist operatives, with interpersonal bonds influencing combat synergies and overall campaign outcomes. An interactive galaxy map allows for strategic planning, resource allocation, and mission selection, adding layers of management simulation to the experience.

Bit Reactor’s development team brings proven expertise to the project, with many members having contributed to the rebooted XCOM series at Firaxis Games. This foundation ensures precise, punishing tactical gameplay, while the partnership with Respawn Entertainment infuses the title with high-production cinematic flair seen in their Jedi action-adventure games. Additional voice roles already announced include Matt Wood as the battle droids and Dee Bradley Baker as the Clone Trooper known as Trick, further enriching the audio landscape of the Clone Wars era.
