The 2023 Valorant Champions event was among some of the most exciting ones, in which Ben Affleck decided to express his disappointment over the Jett nerfs. The competition that was held in Los Angeles turned out to be a pretty huge success for VALORANT, with both players and celebrities showing up from different parts of the world to get in on the action in person. Both Elon Musk and Ben Affleck were also seen at the event, with Affleck being a major fan of the game.
Ben Affleck took his son with him to the event, where the two came across Shannon Williams, the voice actress of Jett. The Batman actor’s son told Williams that his dad could easily be a Jett main if he wanted to be, to which Affleck said, "Yeah, but then they nerfed Jett, that's the problem," to which Shannon agreed. Unfortunately, we can relate with Affleck and his disappointment since the Agent did get nerfed pretty hard in the August 29 VALORANT patch.
Jett’s Tailwind ability, which gives her the ability to quickly dash forward, takes pretty long to activate after the nerfs and also expires much faster. On top of this, Riot Games also increased the cost of the Agent’s Blade Storm ultimate, reduced the duration of her Cloudburst duration, and decreased her Updraft charges from two to one.
Riot explained that these nerfs were to downgrade Jett’s ability to escape the consequences of her misplays and faults and to increase the "intentionality of her ability usage.” Both Shannon and Affleck sharing their disappointment over these Jett nerfs might just end up significantly decreasing the output of the duelist. Many VALORANT fans decided to share their views on the Jett nerfs, saying, “I refuse to emotionally recover- rip Jett 2023.”
Another fan stated, “Jett nerf getting to everyone including celebrities,” with a third fan joining in, “Even the batman didn't like the Nerf.” The VALORANT patch notes, especially the Jett nerfs, seem to have disappointed many fans. In another interview at the Valorant Champions Event, Ben Affleck shared that he's actually a KAY/O main, with Raze being his other main. Who would’ve thought right? Hopefully, Riot Games will bring the original Jett back soon!
