Lum and Ataru have set their return to the small screen in Urusei Yatsura Season 2. After being officially announced in March 2023, the anime has released its fifth trailer, which shows the love and hate relationship between the lead characters, Lum and Ataru. It also reveals the new season’s opening and ending themes: Rock On feat. HashiMelo, Megurimeguru and Kaminarizakura feat. 9Lana, SAKURAmoti both by MAISONdes. You can see the preview below:

The trailer introduces Ataru, a man with a rare star on his back, and Lum, a demon girl, as Rock On starts to play. Despite having a love-and-hate relationship, these two can’t be separated as their lives have already been entangled. Knowing his hubby is girl-hunting, no matter how many women Ataru has met, he still ends up with Lum.

The preview then begins to play a montage of scenes featuring returning characters, like Sakuranbo, Shutaro, and Ran. Lum and Ataru are even seen together with Shinobu. As the endless game of tag continues, Lum is about to bid her goodbye to Ataru as she apologizes for his suffering. As Raizakura plays in the background, Ataru visibly misses Lum as he reminisces about their time together.
