Following its presentation this past week at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Disney has released the first teaser trailer for Tron: Ares online for all to see. The third film in its long-running sci-fi adventure franchise, directed by Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil) with a screen play written by Jack Thorn and Jesse Wigutow, follows a sophisticated program called Ares (Jared Leto) who's sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humans' first encounter with A.I. beings.

Leto and Jeff Bridges were at Disney's presentation to showcase footage at CinemaCon with the former saying of the first movie, “It was the ’80s. It felt like the future; action, adventure, spandex — lots of spandex.” (via IndieWire). The trailer shows chilling footage of massive game tech and lightcycles crashing into the real world while giving us our first look at the new characters played by Evan Peters and Greta Lee.

“I’m looking for something,” Leto says in the trailer. ” Something I do not understand.”

The trailer also features the new atmospheric music by industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails as it shows spectacular visuals of bright red bikes racing down highways, slicing a cop car in half. There's also a gigantic machine looming over a cityscape, and there's a haunting vibe as we see various characters look in horror as the machine approaches. Disney also revealed the first poster for Tron: Ares, which features (presumably) Ares in what appears to be in a real world colliding with the digital world:
