The famous film series is set to return to its animated roots as it gears up for Transformers One, which is expected to expand the franchise, detailing the rivalry between Optimus Prime and Megatron and the origin story of Cybertron. The forthcoming animated movie will reportedly have a different feel than the other entries in the entire franchise.

While the movie series has a long animation history, Transformers One is set to be the first animated film in the franchise in 40 years. Fans will surely be ecstatic to see the return of beloved Autobots and Decepticons. Transformers One is still in production, and Paramount Pictures has recently delayed its debut. The movie’s original release date was initially set for sometime in July 2024, but September 13, 2024 has been designated as its official “rollout” date.
No concrete reason for the postponement has been announced as press time, but it may be related to the recent release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. To recall, the said film required more attention in post-production than the studio initially anticipated, and this may have impacted the production of Transformers One.

The cast of Transformers One is filled with recognizable names in the entertainment industry. As the forthcoming film is entirely animated, several classic Transformers stars have been recast.
Thor actor Chris Hemsworth will voice Optimus Prime, while Black Widow actress Scarlett Johansson will provide the voice of Alita, another Autobot resistance leader. Jon Hamm joins the Transformers One cast as Sentinal Prime, and Keegan Michael-Key will continue his voice-acting streak after The Super Mario Bros. Movie by providing the voice of Bumblebee.
Alpha Trion, one of the oldest Autobots and one of the most renowned Transformers characters, is also introduced in Transformers One. His voice is provided by Laurence Fishburne, whose most well-known roles include Morpheus in The Matrix franchise and Bowery King in the John Wick films.
On the other hand, Brian Tyree Henry assumes the role of a youthful Megatron, who eventually becomes the series' primary antagonist. Fans may also see more characters added to the list in the coming months.

Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman, who have collaborated on short films such as Monsters and the feature film Knock at the Cabin, are named additional writers for the movie.
Michael Bay, director of the early films in the franchise, Mark Vahradian, Aaron Dem, Tom DeSanto, Don Murphy and Lorenzo di Bonaventura are among the producers of Transformers One. Industrial Light & Magic is the animation studio working on the forthcoming film while Paramount Pictures, the fifth-oldest surviving film studio in the world, distributes the Transformers One movie.
