The Mandoverse will not be called as such without the very first series of Star Wars on Disney+ which is The Mandalorian and it is only fitting that it will be the very first show of Lucasfilm to get its own physical media with Seasons 1 and 2 on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD copies. Usually, special releases like this comes with an extra surprise for the fans who will avail of the copies and this time, it will feature how the original Star Wars trilogy connects to the series. The featurette explores how the show pays homage to the trilogy that started it all.

Lucasfilm just experimented on having shows on Disney+ with The Mandalorian and when it became successful, the Mandoverse was born. The Star Wars shows continuously build up the bigger galaxy far, far away and they expand the current narrative of the franchise, bringing in more characters into the spotlight. Still, nothing beats the original and as The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2 get the physical copies, a featurette in it shows the late Shawna Trpcic on how they brought homage to the original Star Wars trilogy.

As reported by ComicBook.com, the featurette had the late Trpcic connecting The Mandalorian to the original Star Wars trilogy saying:

With the New Republic uniforms, we wanted to make sure we were tapping into the foundation of what these were built on. We used the same fabrics, the same wools that were used in the original trilogy. [The uniforms] have a little bit of the characteristics of the Empire so you don't really know if these guys are the good guys or the bad guys. A lot of the helmets were established in the original trilogy. What we did was we went back to Skywalker Ranch and we gathered as many notes as we could. We came back here and I had crew sculpt [the helmet] in clay rather than do a 3D print because I wanted to get some of that handmade detail that would have been in the original trilogy.

Unfortunately, Shawna Trpcic passed away last October 2023 but her legacy remains alive in The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2 especially now that the series finally had its physical copies.

As of the moment, The Mandalorian Season 4 has been confirmed by Jon Favreau when he spoke to BFM TV (via Variety). Favreau said:

Season 4, yeah I've written it already. We have to know where we're going to tell a fully formed story. We had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I, and slowly you start to write each episode. I was writing it during post-production. All of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story.

However, rumors recently circulated that instead of being a full season with various episodes, the next installment of The Mandalorian may be a feature film under Lucasfilm but to date, this hasn't been confirmed nor denied by anyone connected to the show. Season 3 of The Mandalorian already set the stage for the upcoming season where Bo-Katan Kryze leads Mandalore as the Mand'alor, and Din Djarin finally adopts Grogu as his own son, then they get a new adventure together as father and child.
