After 10 years, Japanese singer-songwriter LiSA returns to perform the opening theme of The Irregular at High School anime sequel. To celebrate the series’ 10th anniversary, Aniplex has released the first opening theme the musician performed in 2014, titled Rising Hope, with a special video, which you can see below:
The clip features famous scenes from the original anime, featuring the siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki. As Rising Hope plays in the background, a montage of scenes starts to roll out, showing the other characters from the series.
It also highlights the fight between Erica and Sayaka and the other emotional scenes involving Tatsuya and Miyuki. The video also unveils the incredible power Miyuki has as she fights a group of enemies and the strength of Erica as she battles several men. The clip ends as it strongly depicts the real meaning behind LiSA’s Rising Hope.

Who are the main staff of The Irregular at High School anime sequel?
The anime has yet to reveal the official cast of The Irregular at High School anime sequel, but the previous cast members are expected to return. So far, it has only unveiled the main staff information. Jimmy Stone returns to direct the new anime on Eight Bit studio after being the assistant director of The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Edition. Kana Ishida will also continuously oversee the original illustrations and character designs, as in the previous anime.
Talking about the new project, the anime’s website revealed that the series’ author, Tsutomu Sato, was surprised to learn that Tatsuya and Miyuki’s story would continue. “I thought the anime adaptation would end with the reminiscence arc,” he said. Hence, he wished everyone would continue to enjoy the series.
Alternatively, Stone was surprised but happy and hesitant to do The Irregular at High School anime sequel. He promised to do his best and create a new story that everyone would enjoy.
What is The Irregular at High School about?
The anime has yet to unveil the sequel's official synopsis, but The Irregular at High School is known for its magical world. But instead of using chants and spells, the magic users cast their spells using their Casting Assistant Device (CAD), which is infused with their Psions, a substance-less thought particle, that activate their devices and begin the magic ritual.

The anime is based on the Japanese web novel by Tsutomo Sato. It was originally published as a web novel from October 2008 to March 2011 until Sato made a deal with Dengeki Bunko and released his work in a light novel format in July 2011. After two years, it was adapted into a manga by different artists and publishers, and an anime adaptation was released by Madhouse in 2014.
Yen Press published the light novels and the manga in English, while Aniplex of America licensed the anime, which was later made available on Netflix. Another anime featuring Sato’s original story was released in 2017, while Eight Bit handled the second season.
The Irregular at High School anime sequel is scheduled for release in 2024. After a long while, fans will see Tatsuya and Miyuki’s story play out on TV again.
