Fall 2023 anime season is just around the corner, and one of the most highly-anticipated anime shows that will be released is the second season of The Eminence in Shadow. Kadokawa and the production team of the new season have revealed a new trailer, key visual, and its Fall 2023 release date.

Directed by Kazuya Nakanishi at studio Nexus, the first season of the anime premiered on October 5, 2022, and it consisted of 20 episodes which aired over 2 cours. It was made available to stream on HIDIVE.
The anime is based on the Japanese light series of the same title (Japanese: 陰の実力者になりたくて!, Hepburn: Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!) written by Daisuke Aizawa. Since 2018, Enterbrain has been serializing it in Japan with Tozai's illustrations. Additionally, Kadokawa Shoten has serialized a manga adaptation by Anri Skano. Both the light novels and manga are being published in English by Yen Press. The upcoming second season of the anime will be based on Volume 3 of the light novel.
The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 will begin broadcasting in Japan on AT-X, TOKYO MX, and the anime is also licensed in the United States by Sentai Filmworks and it will be available to stream on HIDIVE, and it will premiere on October 4, 2023.
