After the death of Princess Diana in the first part, The Crown Season 6 Part 2 is about to enter the new millennium as it prepares for the end in its final six episodes. Prince William and Prince Harry are now grownups, Prince Charles is about to get married to Camilla Parker Bowles, and Queen Elizabeth faces the accusations surrounding the royal family. As these will all play out in the final season, the second part’s new trailer hints at an epic conclusion that viewers are about to witness. It also reveals how Kate Middleton catches Prince William's eyes. You can watch the preview below:

The trailer begins with the royals taking a family picture together. But as Prince William’s face turns sad, Queen Elizabeth asks him to “keep smiling.” The controversies and accusations surrounding the royal family then begin with the poll data revealing that they’re “out of touch with ordinary people,” “wasteful of public money,” and “lacked compassion.” It then focuses on Prime Minister Tony Blair, who has a new nickname, Tony King, as he aims to change the politics and soul of the United Kingdom.

The next scene then shows the Wales family. The boys are still reeling from their mother’s death, with Camilla telling Prince Charles that the young princes need him now more than ever. However, as Prince William and the Prince of Wales argue, the latter utters their family doesn’t do fathers and sons very well.

But amid everything happening in and outside the monarchy, Queen Elizabeth takes a moment to visit her past and stand for her people and her family. However, as many want to celebrate her reign as the longest-serving monarch in history on her Golden Jubilee and mark the end of an era, she can’t help but question the life and woman she had put aside when she became the Queen.

As a glimpse of her younger self is revealed, Queen Elizabeth promises her sister, Princess Margaret, that she will always be by her side. “When fate summons, even monarchs must obey,” Prince Philip says. The last scenes then feature the introduction of Meg Bellamy as Kate Middleton, catching Prince William's eyes as she walks the catwalk.
