After witnessing Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s divorce in The Crown Season 5, Netflix invites everyone to a very important event in the royal family in the series' last and final season. The streamer drops a new photo for The Crown Season 6, an invitation to the Prince of Wales and Ms. Camilla Parker Bowles’ nuptials when the new season releases.

Based on the reign of the late Queen Elizabeth II, The Crown is a historical drama by Peter Morgan. He developed it from his drama movie The Queen and stage play The Audience. And despite the controversies the show has faced for depicting the royal family, Netflix stresses it’s a “fictional dramatization inspired by real events.”

The preview shows the invitation to Prince Charles and Camilla’s wedding. “Service of Prayer and Dedication Following the Marriage of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall,” it reads.

Like in real life, the event would be held at St. George’s Chapel on April 9, 2005. This is another must-see event in the royal family's lives in the upcoming The Crown Season 6. After the world showed its wrath against Camilla following Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s divorce in the fifth season, their enduring love had proven to win against all odds.

What will happen in The Crown Season 6?

Aside from Prince Charles and Camilla’s wedding, The Crown Season 6 will also feature the first meeting of Prince William and Kate Middleton at a university in St. Andrews in Scotland in the early 2000s. As the final season enters the new era of the monarchy, it will also see the first taste of romance for the Duke of Cambridge.

In addition, the upcoming season will feature the death of Princess Diana. In an interview with Deadline, Dominic West, who plays the role of Prince Charles, reveals the sixth installment will focus on the tragedy, though a Netflix source also told the publication that the “crash impact” wouldn’t be seen.

The show's producers also assured at the recent Edinburgh TV Festival that the People’s Princess’ scenes were filmed with “enormous sensitivity” as everyone was very careful doing that. “There’s a huge amount of respect from us all; I hope that’s evident,” producer Suzanne Mackie said.
