There is little doubt that The Creator takes place in a world where artificial intelligence has waged a war against humanity. However, it also features an unexpected cameo from a galaxy far, far away. It has just been confirmed that the new Gareth Edwards movie actually features a familiar face (or make) that we've already seen in his Star Wars film!

The confirmation comes from VFX supervisor Jay Cooper, who spoke to The Direct about working on The Creator with Gareth Edwards. Interestingly, Cooper also revealed that there is an unexpected Rogue One cameo in the movie, but you'll have to keep your eyes peeled to find it.

"We have an Easter egg of K-2SO in the movie as well," he said. "But you know, you're gonna have to find that one on your own… It’s in there. I can circle it if I’m given the chance.”

K-2SO was introduced in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as a loyal companion to Captain Cassian Andor. Originally an Imperial enforcer droid, he underwent reprogramming by Diego Luna's character to become a valuable asset to the Rebellion. Considering that Rogue One, which serves as a prequel to A New Hope, was helmed by director Gareth Edwards, it's fitting that Kay-Too would make a brief appearance in his latest project.

For now, K-2SO's cameo has yet to be noticed. However, we wouldn't be surprised if it eventually gets confirmed by audiences who have already seen the film. In the meantime, Alan Tudyk is currently expected to reprise his role as the droid in Andor Season 2.

What We Know So Far About Andor Season 2

Andor Season 2 will consist of 12 new episodes which will be directed by Ariel Kleiman, Janus Metz, and Alonso Ruizpalacios. Tony Gilroy will once again pen most of the screenplay.

Most of the premise of Andor Season 2 has not yet been revealed but the series is expected to explore Cassian's story further after he finally agreed to join the Rebellion in the previous season finale. The second season is set to premiere on Disney+ in August 2024.
