As shared on the official website of The Apothecary Diaries, Lilas Ikuta said that after working on Season 1 firsthand, she is honored to perform Season 2's opening. While writing the theme song, the singer hoped to deliver new life into the romance/mystery anime while incorporating the same excitement from when she first became absorbed in its characters and story. The lyrics of the new opening theme song are inspired by Maomao’s charms, the vibrant world of the inner court, and the surprising mysteries that unfold.

OLM and TOHO Animation studios are back to produce the animation of The Apothecary Diaries Season 2. Norihiro Naganuma, who directed the first season, will return to direct the second season with the same main staff, which includes Akimi Fudesaka as a director, and Wataru Nakagawa as assistant director, and Yukiko Nakatani as the character designer. The trio of Kevin Penkin, Arisa Okehazama, and Satoru Kosaki will be in charge of the anime's music.
