Netflix is at it again! After the live-action adaptation of the webtoon Killer Paradox, the streamer will adapt Bae Jin-soo’s thriller Money Game and its sequel, Pie Game. The streamer has now dropped a new teaser for the upcoming K-drama, featuring funny but brutal Squid Game-like games that will remind viewers of the 2021 global hit series.

You can see the preview below:

“Do you really want something fun,” the opening of The 8 Show teaser asks. The scene then shifts to game member 3 introducing himself from his room. It then shows the other members joining the game while a narrator reveals they don’t need the right skills or knowledge to participate. Their nightmare begins as the teaser shows a glimpse of the game members 8, 7, and 4, among others.

The participants can be seen running on a stairwell, enjoying a meal together, and jumping from one trampoline to another. However, though the money piles up as time passes, their lives become in danger as they stay. At one point, a man who dons a mask to cover his eyes hits another with a baseball bat, probably without his knowing. As 3 realizes their lives are at stake, he finally understands they’re all in danger.

Aside from the preview, Netflix has also released character visuals for The 8 Show. The posters introduce each participant, hinting at their lives before they join the game. And just like Squid Game, these people are in dire need of money, which makes them end up in this so-called reality show.
