The upcoming anime version of The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You is gradually introducing its characters with new trailers and visuals recently. And the latest, the anime has unveiled an official character preview and key art for Nagino Sakae, a beauty and brain who always aims for perfection when it comes to her grades and studies.
Referred to as The 100 Girlfriends, the series is originally a Japanese manga written by Rikito Nakamura and illustrated by Yukiko Nozawa. It has been serialized since December 2019 in Shueisha's Seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump and has collected 14 tankōbon volumes as of July 2023. Seven Seas Entertainment got the license to release the manga in English, while Bibury Animation Studios produces its anime after being announced on March 14 this year.
The anime’s official website has given an official glimpse of Nagino. The 47-second video shows the beauty and allure of this aloof character as the protagonist, Rentaro Aijo, gets enthralled by her captivating gorgeousness.
Though love is a waste of time for Nagino, swearing she will never go out with Rentaro, she will become one of his 100 girlfriends. You can see her character preview below:
Meanwhile, the anime’s website also revealed that Asami Seto, the voice actress behind Nagino, has signed the colored paper gift for this character, officially starting this campaign. All fans must do is follow the show’s official Twitter page and retweet this post. Three people will win the signed colored paper from Seto herself. The promo will end on Friday, August 18, at 11:59 PM.

The 100 Girlfriend follows the story of Rentaro, who has confessed to and been rejected by 100 girls in his lifetime. To change his fate, he visits a shrine and prays to have a girlfriend during high school. From there, the God of Love appears and tells him he doesn’t have a love life because everyone is meant to have only one soulmate in their lifetime. However, an error occurs, and Rentaro ends up being destined to have 100 girlfriends.

Considering this title has 1 million copies in circulation as of March 2022 and ranked eighth on AnimeJapan's fifth Most Wanted Anime Adaptation poll last year, there’s high anticipation surrounding the series. Also, based on the recent trailers released, this one may meet fans’ expectations.
