Over two years after the second season ended, Rimuru Tempest is back and will continue his journey as the benevolent ruler of the monster country Tempest of the Jura Forest. First announced in November 2022, details about the new season remained scarce until it was revealed that it would be released in the Spring 2024 anime season after a year. Now, the anime has released its new trailer, showing Rimuru looking back at his journey from a man formerly known as Satoru Mikami to becoming one of the strongest Demon Lords.

You can see the preview below:

The That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 trailer begins with Rimuru going down memory lane as he got reincarnated as a slime. As he started his new life in an unfamiliar place, he made a lot of friends, created a country, and went through a lot, making him the Demon King that he is today. As he continued to ponder his life, he realized his adventure hadn’t ended yet, and there was something he still had to settle.

Benimaru then takes the scene, an enemy he must look after. Then, Hinata Sakaguchi holds a special meeting, followed by Saleh's sworn allegiance to Rimuru. From there, a series of intense scenes play out, giving a glimpse of Diablo, Glenda, and Leonard, among others. As Hinata holds a globe that shows Rimuru’s face, the latter warns he will deal with them if they say something about Yori-sama. But Hinata has no plans to back down as she prepares for a big fight to face Rimuru.

What to Expect from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3

The anime has yet to release the official synopsis for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3, but it’s already confirmed that it will be divided into two cours. After the previous two seasons adapted Volumes 5 and 6 of the light novel, the third season may cover the events in Volume 7, known as the Saint-Monster Confrontation arc.

After Rimuru defeated Demon Lord Clayman, the Holy Empire of Lubelius was shaken to its core, especially after Hinata Sakaguchi had launched a bold attack on Rimuru. Things get even more intense after the priest, whom Rimuru sent to attend the meeting at Lubelius, gets murdered. As Hinata makes her way to Tempest to settle things out, one wrong move could mean the beginning of a war.

You can read the synopsis below:

News of the demon lord Clayman’s defeat by Rimuru shakes the Holy Empire of Lubelius to its core—especially since the chief knight of the nation’s Imperial Guard and captain of the Crusader forces, Hinata Sakaguchi, launched a bold attack on Rimuru not long ago. Things look only more dire when a priest sent by Rimuru to attend an urgent meeting of Lubelius bigwigs ends up murdered. The stakes couldn’t be higher for either side as Hinata heads to Tempest to settle things—one wrong move could spell total warfare!

The anime is based on the light novel of the same title written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah. It ran from 2013 to 2016 and was later acquired by Micro Magazine, publishing it as a light novel in 2014 and releasing 21 volumes as of October 2023. Yen Press licensed the light novel in English. It was then adapted into a manga published by Kodansha. Five manga spin-offs were also released, published by Kodansha and Micro Magazine.

In addition, Eight Bit produced its anime adaptation, with the first season released in October 2018 and the second season premiered in January 2021. The first two seasons are available to stream on Crunchyroll. An anime adaptation of the second spin-off manga also aired in April 2021, followed by the anime film in November 2022 and a three-episode original net animation spin-off titled Visions of Coleus in November 2023.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 is set to be released on April 5, 2024. As one of the biggest isekai anime, many are now waiting for Rimuru’s return to the small screen, especially as another huge fight is about to begin.
