2024 is set to be an exciting year for isekai anime fans, and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 is one of the most highly-anticipated titles premiering soon. The series is based on author Fuse and illustrator Mitz Vah's light novel series of the same title (Japanese: Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) or simply known as Tensura, which begins with a 37-year-old salaryman named Satoru Mikami, who's stabbed by a robber and wakes up in another world. However, the hero is reincarnated as a Slime, one of the weakest Monster classes in this strange world.
The first season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime premiered in Fall 2018, and after some delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Season 2 premiered in January 2021. It was split into two cours, with 12 episodes each, with the final episode broadcasting in September of that year. Fans have been anticipating the third season, and the good news is that Season 3 will arrive soon.

With the release window approaching soon, the production team revealed more information regarding Season 3's release date, confirming that the third season will premiere in April 2024. In addition to that, they also confirmed that the next season will be running for two consecutive cours, so fans can expect Season 3 to have approximately 24 new episodes to arrive this year. This information was announced in December 2023, during a special stage named Tensura 10th Live to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the anime.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Trailer
On December 16, 2023, a new trailer for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 was released on the anime's official website. The trailer shows various shots of Hinata attacking and riding on horseback as battles get heated up, but it doesn't reveal much of the plot. The trailer confirms the new season's release window, which is enough to get fans hyped for the isekai anime's return.
However, there were a few complains about the quality of the animation shown in the trailer. Season 3 is animated by studio Eight Bit, which also worked on the The Irregular at Magic High School and Blue Lock anime projects, but fans online criticized how some of the shots in the trailer are not impressive.
"The characters are barely moving and the animation looks stiff as hell. Tensura deserves way more than this," YouTuber @PCVP4729 said, while Redditor u/_Velgrynd wrote: "I'm really hoping they picked the worst shots and frames out of the season to be in this trailer cause where the hell is the movement."
