The October 4 premiere of Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II is just around the corner, and the second main trailer and new key visual have been revealed during Aniplex Online Fest 2024 on Monday. The trailer previews the opening theme song, GG, will be performed by ReoNA. As expected, there's a lot of run-and-gun action in the trailer as the protagonist LLENN does her best to survive, and it looks like she will be facing a new nemesis.
The official English accounts of the anime also confirmed that the second season of the science fiction anime will be available to stream on Crunchyroll in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and CIS.

Season 2 of Gun Gale Online was officially announced in July 2023, during the 30th Dangeki Bunko Summer Festival that was held on ABEMA TV. The director of the first season, Masayuki Sakoi (Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious, Matoi the Sacred Slayer, Princess Resurrection), will return to direct at A-1 Pictures (Studio 3Hz transferred its animation production business to A-1 Pictures in June 2024). Yōsuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia, Trigun, Gundam Build Fighters, Mobile Suit Gundam 00) is back as the series composer. Yoshio Kosakai (The Marginal Service, Needless) is also returning as chief animation directo and character designer.
The first season of Gun Gale Online aired in Spring 2018 anime season, and it ran for 12 episodes.

What is Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online about?
Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online anime is based on Keiichi Sigsawa’s Sōdo Āto Onrain Orutanatibu Gangeiru Onrain (Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online) light novel series, and it follows Karen Kohiruimaki, a university student who plays a VR game called Gun Gale Online after it gives her the cute avatar she has always wanted. Venturing on a digital landscape far more like Apex Legends versus Final Fantasy or World of Warcraft, Karen discovers more than she bargained for. It's a spin-off series to the Sword Art Online light novel series by Reki Kawahara.

In the world of guns and steel that is Gun Gale Online, LLENN has been a devoted, female solo player. She is obsessed with two things: donning herself entirely in pink and honing her skills with consistent game play. She soon discovers her love for hunting other players (a.k.a. PK), soon to be known as the "Pink Devil." Meanwhile, LLENN meets a beautiful yet mysterious player, Pitohui, and the two click right away. Doing as she is told by Pitohui, she enters the Squad Jam group battle.
