What is Strong Girl Nam-Soon about?
Six episodes into the series, Strong Girl Nam-Soon continuously takes the world by storm. It’s the spinoff of the equally famous 2017 series Strong Girl Bong-Soon, which starred Park Bo-Young. Now, Squid Game and All of Us Are Dead breakout star Lee Yoo-Mi takes the mantle as Gang Nam-Soon.
She’s the daughter of the corporate tycoon Hwang Geum-Joo (Kim Jung-Eun) and was lost when she was a child during a trip with her father, Gang Bong-Go (Lee Seung-Joon), in Mongolia. Just like her cousin, Do Bong-Soon (Park Bo-Young), Nam-Soon is not just an ordinary girl as she possesses super strength, passed down in the women in their family for the past 500 years.
Hence, Geum-Joo has been looking for her daughter for the past ten years by holding a global annual contest for strong young women. After Nam-Soon finally remembers her name and where she comes from, she starts learning Korean and saving to go to South Korea. But a woman named Ri Hwa-Ja (Choi Hee-Jin) wins the contest, and Geum-Joo accepts her as her child.
