The director of Stranger Things Season 5, Dan Trachtenberg, confirms that the much-anticipated installment won’t follow the Game of Thrones template. Ever since the end of Season 4, fans have been looking forward to Season 5 to know how its story is going to progress further. The show’s actors also look forward to happily concluding their seven-year-long journey.
In an interview with Variety, Trachtenberg claimed that the show’s fifth and last series of episodes will not follow the template that Game of Thrones set. The Prey director said, "I don't think Stranger Things falls into a category of television seasons like Game of Thrones where the pilot is cool, slows down, and the last two episodes are the big battle.”
He also shared that rock and roll music will once again play a crucial part in Stranger Things Season 5. Trachtenberg is the most recent member of the show’s cast and crew to share what fans can expect from the upcoming installment. David Harbour also hinted at the connection of Season 5 to several plot threads from the previous seasons in his latest appearance in a podcast.

The actor further claimed that the upcoming season will complete the story of his character, Jim Hopper, along with the other main characters, such as Mike Wheeler, Joyce Byers, Eleven, and Will Byers. Harbour said, “[Stranger Things creators The Duffer Brothers are] going to pay them off in big ways because they've lived with you for the past eight years."

Jim Hopper’s David Harbour also claimed that he truly believes in the co-architects of Stranger Things, i.e., The Duffer Brothers. He has complete faith that the two will be able to deliver a “very, very moving” ending to the series’ story. The Stranger Things actor further explained that this confidence didn’t only come to him after reading the finale script of Season 5, which he hasn’t even had the chance to skim through, but also the talks he has had with Ross and Matt Duffer about the endings of each character.
Millie Bobby Brown, who plays the role of Eleven, also talked about Stranger Things Season 5, claiming that she’s excited to finish her long run on the show. She stated, "I think I'm ready. It's been such a huge factor in part of my life, but it's like graduating high school, it's like senior year. You're ready to go and blossom and flourish, and you're grateful for the time you've had, but it's time to create your own message and live your own life." Although it will be a bitter-sweet ending, we can’t wait to see where the characters and the actors end up.
Stranger Things Season 1 to 4 are available to stream on Netflix, whereas Season 5 does not have a release date yet.
