Ahsoka Episode 6 had everything, from a long-awaited reunion to adorable creatures who captured the hearts of viewers. However, it also presented a new mystery that Star Wars fans can't help but pick at. The episode introduced the Dathomiri Great Mothers who are revealed to be helping Grand Admiral Thrawn so they could join him and leave Peridea. But why are the Nightsisters so desperate to leave the planet?

In Ahsoka Episode 6, Morgan Elsbeth and her companions finally arrive in Peridea where it is revealed that the Great Mothers have been guiding her on her quest. However, Baylan Skoll isn't so impressed with the three Dathomiri women as he deduces that they are desperate to leave the planet as soon as possible. Skoll ponders on the fact with his Apprentice Shin Hati, wondering what it is that the Nightsisters are so terrified of.

So what are the Great Mothers afraid of? One fan theory suggests that Peridea may have been a planet occupied by the Zeffo because of the presence of Zeffonian runes. Considering that the Zeffo are also Force-sensitive, there would be a good reason for the Dathomiri to avoid them.

Who are the Zeffo?

The Zeffonians were an ancient species native to the planet Zeffo. They were mostly Force-sensitive and referred to the Force as the "Life Wind". Although they started out as a peaceful civilization, they became more corrupt and eventually fell to the Dark Side of the Force. The remaining Zeffonians feared extinction and fled into the Unknown Regions of the galaxy to find peace.

So how are they connected to the Dathomiri? The great Zeffonian sage Kujet famously fell into the Dark Side and took over Dathomir. His story of destruction is told in the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

For now, it is unclear whether the Zeffo or Kujet himself will play heavily into Ahsoka's storyline. However, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if they are introduced in the next episode.

Ahsoka Episode 7 has not been given an official title. The penultimate episode of the Star Wars series will premiere on September 26, 2023.
