It seems Asajj Ventress isn’t the only one making a triumphant return to Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3. After her last appearance in the 2021 Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett, Fennec Shand is back, ready to lend a hand to Clone Force 99. In a new clip for The Bad Batch Season 3 Episode 8, titled Bad Territory, this renowned elite mercenary joins forces with Hunter and Wrecker on a new mission.

Comicbook shares the exclusive clip of The Bad Batch Season 3, which sees Shand with Hunter and Wrecker on a swamp. The clip starts with the clone commando and sergeant diving into the waters while a congregation of space alligators prepares to attack. They then get the help of Shand, who shoots the alligators one by one as they continuously explore the water, but the sheer number of gators poses a formidable challenge. As the situation escalates, Shand urges Wrecker and Hunter to seek safety aboard the ship, lest they become the alligators’ next meal.
Tension starts to build when one of the alligators snatches Hunter and drags him back to the water. Of course, Wrecker won’t let the enemy take his fellow The Bad Batch, so he bravely jumps atop the gator and fights it off. After they successfully defeat the reptile, they return to the ship and leave, but the action continues with more space alligators trying to stop them. As they manage to escape, Shand declares it’s the very reason why she doesn’t go to the water.
Who is Fennec Shand in Star Wars?
In the Star Wars universe, Fennec Shand was a humane female bounty hunter, elite mercenary, and Master Assassin who used to work for the top crime syndicates during the age of the Galactic Empire. Known for her cunning and ruthlessness, she climbed her way up to the criminal underworld during the beginning of the Empire’s reign. This made her incredibly famous, being known for being a cunning and elite mercenary. However, with the fall of the Empire and the imprisonment of several of her employers, Shand went on a run and was rescued by Boba Fett.
Ming-Na Wen, who voices Shand in The Bad Batch Season 3 Episode 8, first made her Star Wars debut in the live-action Star Wars: The Mandalorian before she made her way to The Book of Boba Fett. As the ongoing animated series takes place before these two other Disney+ shows, fans are about to see a young version of Shand. Becoming a fan favorite, many want to see this character have her own solo spin-off. Though nothing is confirmed about it yet, Wen told Comicbook in 2023 that she was open to the idea.
“Well, I get a lot of fans asking if there could be a spinoff of just Fennec,” she said. “I'm like, why not? I don't know. Yeah, any reason to just do Star Wars again.”
