Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3 Episode 14 End Credits Seemingly Hint Rex & Echo’s Spin-Off

The end of The Bad Batch Season 3 is almost here. The animated series’ recently released Episode 14, titled Flash Strike, made a big tease about the franchise’s future after making a major change. The show’s end credits usually play its main theme. However, the penultimate episode features a remixed of the clone theme from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, seemingly hinting at a new spin-off that may feature Rex and Echo.

Featuring the clone theme at the end of The Bad Batch Season 3 Episode 14 is probably not a coincidence. For one, there are theories that a clone uprising is about to happen with the Empire’s treatment of the clones. A rebellion may soon unfold with their rights revoked and being subjected to experiments on Dr. Royce Hemlock and Emperor Palpatine’s Project Necromancer.

This claim is even supported by Rex and Clone Force 99’s effort to free the imprisoned clones from Mount Tantiss. Though this may happen in the series finale, a single episode that may run for 20 to 30 minutes may find it hard to explore a big uprising like this fully. The show still has several storylines that need closure, like Omega’s imprisonment, Hemlock’s true plans, and the Bad Batch’s escape from Tantiss, among others.

Hence, there’s another theory that the clone uprising will be featured in another show, probably a new The Bad Batch spin-off. Rex and Echo have been away for most of the third season, and the two are known for working together to free the clones across the galaxy. That said, the final episode may tie all of the series’ loose ends and set the stage for a new story to be told.

Will there be a new Star Wars: The Bad Batch spin-off?

The Bad Batch is a spin-off of The Clone Wars after the latter introduced the group in its last season. As Echo has become a member of Clone Force 99 and a clone theme is being played in the third season’s penultimate episode, it looks like a new show is about to be introduced. Before this happens, Star Wars has already hinted at a new spin-off featuring Echo and Rex when its databank confirmed Echo’s departure from the Bad Batch.

“Echo, formerly of the 501st and the Bad Batch, has joined his old friend Captain Rex on a new mission to help his clone brothers,” it reads.

Echo has started working with Rex in The Bad Batch Season 2. So, their journey together can be explored in a new story. If this happens, it may fill the gap in Rex’s life between The Bad Batch and Star Wars Rebels that will continue The Clone Wars’ legacy.
