Star Wars: The Acolyte Episode 6, Teach / Corrupt, mostly focused on Osha (Amandla Stenberg) and Qimir’s (Manny Jacinto) dynamic as a romantic connection seemingly brews between the two. It also showed Mae (Stenberg) and Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) time together on the ship as they made their way to Coruscant after a big fight against The Stranger in Episode 5, Night. As Sol is about to reveal to Mae what really took place on Brendok, showrunner Leslye Headland teases the revelation of the Jedi Order’s biggest problem will happen in the upcoming Episode 7.
In an interview with Collider, Headland discussed how The Acolyte tries to change viewers' perception of the Jedi as not always the good guys. The show is seemingly hiding a big secret about what really happened on Brendok that made Mae hunt the four Jedi Knights, Sol, Indara (Carrie-Anne Moss), Torbin (Dean-Charles Chapman), and Kelnacca (Joonas Suotamo), stationed on her home planet when she was a child. As the series creator talked about Jedi missions, it looks like there will be another big reveal in Episode 7.
“Actually, in the next episode, you're gonna see how far-flung particular missions with Jedi are and the lack of oversight,” she said.
By the looks of it, something has happened in the Jedi’s mission on Brendok that led to the death of Mother Aniseya (Jodie Turner-Smith) and her coven of witches. Sure, Mae is accused of starting the fire that allegedly leads to their demise, but the lifeless bodies of the witches seen in Episode 3, Destiny, are not burnt. Add those to Sol’s revelation that it’s time for him to face the High Council, Torbin taking a sacred oath of the Barash Vow, and Kelnacca leaving the Jedi Order to live solitarily, and it appears they are involved in the massacre on Brendok.

Leslye Headland Clears She’s Not Criticizing the Jedi in Star Wars: The Acolyte
As The Acolyte aims to change fans’ point of view of the Jedi, Headland clarified that she’s not trying to criticize the Order. She explained that the show is “so much further back” from George Lucas’ works, which are the prequels and Episodes 5 through 6, and is in the era that Obi-Wan Kenobi talked about in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.
“We're in that period where the proliferation of power is so huge and far-reaching,” she said.
Headland added that comparing the Jedi in the prequels and the High Republic era is difficult as there is about a hundred years difference between the two. So, when Rayencourt talked about doing the audit in Episode 6, things started to get political, just like how Lucas approached things in the prequels. As a high-ranking Jedi Master, Vernestra Rwoh (Rebecca Henderson) seems to know what will happen next.
“So, you see Vernestra’s like, ‘We cannot let this happen,’” Headland explained. “She gets more and more concerned about that at the end of the season, and rightfully so because she, as a very powerful Jedi Master, can sort of see what's on the horizon, whereas, when we meet the Jedi in the prequels, they're completely enmeshed at that point.”
The last two episodes of The Acolyte may be filled with revelations. Aside from the mysterious events that transpired on Brendok, many are also waiting to know about Qimir’s origins. Of course, with fans now shipping Qimir and Osha, the show also has to reveal how their romance will develop.
The first six episodes of The Acolyte are available on Disney+, and new episodes are scheduled to be released every Tuesday.
