Star Wars: The Acolyte is not getting renewed for a second season, following Lucasfilm and Disney's cancellation of the eight-episode Disney+ series from creator, executive producer, director, and showrunner Lesley Headland. While some fans are happy with the decision, some have taken it to social media to express their frustration with the decision, and an online petition was launched with the goal to get The Acolyte renewed for Season 2. Star Amandla Stenberg also shared her reaction to the surprising cancellation, and now her co-star, Manny Jacinto, has recently expressed his determination to continue the series, saying that Season 2 has become his life goal.

During his appearance at a Dragon Con panel in Atlanta over the weekend, Jacinto was asked about his various career and life goals. When asked what he wants to do "before you leave this mortal coil," the 37-year-old actor simply smiled and responded, "The Acolyte Season 2."

Previously, Jacinto, who played the villainous Qimir / The Stranger in The Acolyte, also shared a bittersweet reaction to the show's cancellation. Over on Instagram, Jacinto shared a photo of his character with Stenberg as they stood hand-in-hand on the beach in Madeira, Portugal, the Unknown Planet in the show. This scene was part of The Acolyte's season finale, where the two characters agreed to work together as the master and apprentice.
