Billie Lourd has followed in the footsteps of her mother, the late Carrie Fisher, and joined the epic space opera Star Wars. She first appeared as Lieutenant Kaydel Ko Connix in the 2015 Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, followed by the 2019 Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker. As she hasn’t returned to the fold since then, the actress has expressed interest in joining the franchise again.

In an interview with ComicBook about her new collaboration with eBay, Lourd revealed she wanted to bring Connix back five years after her last Star Wars movie. Though she didn’t know how it could happen, she would love to be part of the Galaxy again in any way possible.

“I love being an ambassador. I wrote an essay, 'The Keeper of Leia,' and I love playing that role,” she said. “I'm also obsessed, I'm a fangirl.”

The 31-year-old is willing to do everything to get back to the Star Wars universe, even if it means she has to be a “creature, run a droid,” or work behind the scenes. As Fisher’s daughter, Lourd has been connected to this epic saga, making her passion run deep. That said, she would be open to anything to get involved with her love for the franchise.

“Anything I can do to be involved in this universe, I would do because I just adore it so much,” she continued.

How can Billie Lourd’s Lieutenant Connix return to Star Wars?

Star Wars sequel trilogy may have ended, but its last film, The Rise of Skywalker, has left plenty of room for its character to return in future projects. For one, Daisy Ridley is about to reprise her role as Rey Skywalker in a new movie about building a new Jedi Order set in the post-Empire, post-First-Order era. As this will follow the events of Episode IX, there’s a big chance that the stars and characters from the sequel could return, including Lourd.

“Getting to play Connix was such a gift, and to get to do it again would just be insane,” she told Inverse.

Hence, just like fans, she’s looking forward to having a reunion Star Wars movie with her former co-stars, especially her favorite, Kelly Marie Tran. In fact, she already has an idea of what their film together could be.

“Honestly? Rose [Tico], baby. Kelly Marie Tran is one of my favorite people of all time, and I would love to team up with her,” she said. “We should do a buddy comedy: Rose and Connix.”

Though there are no words yet for when Lourd will be once again seen as Lieutenant Connix in the Star Wars universe, seeing her return to the franchise is an exciting idea. After not having the chance to shine in her previous Lucasfilm movies, her next possible project in the Galaxy may give her the spotlight she deserves.
