C-3PO may have lost his head in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and gets damaged and destroyed several times in the franchise, but parts of the protocol droid have been part of the collection of Anthony Daniels, who has played the iconic humanoid for over 40 years. Now, Daniels is ready to part ways with his character's head as he’s about to put his memorabilia stash in an auction by Propstore, starting on March 13 in Los Angeles.
C-3PO’s head from Star Wars: Episode VI- Return of the Jedi is just one from Daniel’s Star Wars collection that will be up for auction next week, and it’s poised to be sold at $500,000-$1,000,000. But though he had already sold another of its head at a similar auction in November 2023 for almost $850,000, the actor was still a little hesitant.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the mime artist admitted feeling sentimental when doing a final photo shoot with the precious piece. He even questioned himself if he was ready to move on.
“Am I right to move this on?” he asked himself. “I have lived with these items for 50 years, some of them, and I have very mixed feelings.”
However, Daniels chose to be practical, considering his Star Wars memorabilia was only lying on the cupboards, drawers, and attics, with nobody looking at them. So, instead of throwing them away, he will put them to good use.
Well, his original plan was to leave all this stuff to his wife, Christine Savage, and sell it when he died. However, Savage suggested putting it on the market while he’s still alive. Hence, the idea of auctioning them comes in.
“She doesn’t want to deal with this stuff,” he continued. But though he’s putting his entire collection to the auction, Daniels chose to keep two things: a statue from Lucasfilm congratulating him for his 40-year service and an 18-inch C-3PO statue made of Legos.

What are the Star Wars memorabilia Anthony Daniels will auction?
Daniels will be putting a lot of Star Wars stuff into the auction, including two lots of sockets and tubes from the Millennium Falcon that he saved after completing the filming of Return of the Jedi. At the time, movie props weren’t kept due to storage issues, so they were burned.
Though the light freighter is iconic to many, the production staff already put it to the fire, so he “just picked up some pieces.” Also, no one knew the franchise would continue after the original trilogy. For other items that will be auctioned, you can check the list below:
