Spy x Family CODE: White anime film has been dominating the box office in Japan since its premiere on December 22, 2023. On January 4 JST, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Spy x Family anime series has revealed that the movie has made over 3.4 billion yen (US$23.66 million) while its moviegoer count surpassed 2.59 million.

To celebrate the achievement, a two-minute trailer was released for the film:


In the film's opening weekend (December 22 to 24), Spy x Family CODE: White grossed 1.22 billion yen (US$849) and its moviegoer count reached 866,000. The huge success of the movie shouldn't surprise anime fans since the Spy x Family manga by Tatsuya Endo and its anime adaptation have soared to popularity since the first season premiered in April 2022. The first cour of Season 1 aired in Spring 2022 anime season, and the second cour throughout the Fall 2022 season of the same year. Season 2 aired from October to December 2023, with Episode 12 premiering on December 23.

The movie's theme songs include SOULCOUP by Official Hige Dandism as the opening theme and Gen Hoshino's Why as the ending theme.

What is Spy x Family CODE: White about?

Spy x Family Code: White features the Forgers taking a trip to the Frigis region after Loid tells Anya that she make the region’s melemele confectionary, a favourite of Eden Academy’s principal, who is presiding over a cooking competition that prizes the winner with a Stella Star. While Yor is feeling emotional after seeing Loid with a mysterious woman prior to the trip, Anya ends up swallowing chocolate found in a suspicious trunk, with said chocolate containing a big secret.

Not one to depend on others, Twilight has his work cut out for him procuring both a wife and a child for his mission to infiltrate an elite private school. What he doesn’t know is that the wife he’s chosen is an assassin and the child he’s adopted is a telepath!
