Netflix is about to introduce a new generation of spies in the upcoming Spy Kids: Armageddon. Twelve years after director Robert Rodriguez made a Spy Kids movie, a new adventure is about to begin. To give fans a glimpse of these spy kids' new journey this time, the streamer has dropped a new trailer, seeing Tony and Patty needing to save their parents from the “bad guys.”
Spy Kids: Armageddon is the fifth installment of Rodriguez’s family movie franchise. The filmmaker makes it a family affair, having his sons, Racer and Rebel, working behind the scenes as a co-writer and film score composer. With Zachary Levi and Gina Rodriguez on the lead, this new family of spies will unleash a new mission to save the world.
The trailer begins with Tony (Connor Esterson) wanting to play a game, but his sister, Patty (Everly Carganilla), tries to stop him. “There’s something wrong with this game,” he says. Their father, Terrence (Levi), is about to come, so Tony hides his console, but his dad catches him, along with his mom, Nora (Rodriguez).
From there, something bad happens in the universe as the electricity starts to shut down. Nora believes it is caused by a virus they call The Armageddon Code. And unexpectedly, the bad guys from Tony’s game come to life and attack their home.
The two kids escape and later realize their parents are spies, leading them to save them and the world. You can check the trailer below:
