Fans can now enjoy watching Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse right in the comfort of their own homes after its online release on Amazon Video, Blu-ray, and DVD. But if there’s one thing they have been waiting for, it’s Spider-Verse 2’s release on Netflix and Disney+, so they don’t have to pay extra cost.
Spider-Verse 2 sees the return of Miles Morales to the award-winning Spider-Verse saga. He has traveled across the Multiverse to work with Gwen Stacy and other Spider-People to face the powerful villain Dr. Jonathan Ohnn, aka Spot. With its success, grossing over $660 million at the box office worldwide and receiving a 95% Tomatometer and 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, many want to watch it repeatedly on streamers. So, when will it happen?
Thankfully, Spider-Verse 2 will be seen on two streaming giants, Netflix and Disney+, considering Sony has deals with these services. It will be first released on Netflix before it hits Disney+, as the first streamer holds the rights to all of Sony’s new movies in the first 18 months of the Pay 1 window—the period after the film’s theatrical and home releases.

When will Spider-Verse 2 be released on Netflix?
To give fans an idea of when Spider-Verse 2 will be released on Netflix, it could be based on the theater-to-Netflix release windows of the previous Sony movies. By the looks of it, it takes about a minimum of 120 days to a maximum of 168 before the studio’s latest films hit the streamer.
Take Where the Crawdads Sing, Bullet Train, Lyle, Lyle Crocodile, and 65 for examples. These films were released on Netflix 120 days after hitting the theaters. However, it took 168 days for Uncharted to hit Netflix after its theatrical release, 159 for Morbius, 156 for Father Stu, and 129 for A Man Called Otto. You can check these films’ release dates below:
Movie | Theatrical Release | Netflix Release | Number of Days |
Where the Crawdads Sing | July 15, 2022 | November 12, 2022 | 120 |
Bullet Train | August 5, 2022 | December 3, 2022 | 120 |
Lyle, Lyle Crocodile | October 7, 2022 | February 4, 2023 | 120 |
65 | March 10, 2023 | July 8, 2023 | 120 |
A Man Called Otto | December 29, 2022 | May 6, 2023 | 129 |
Father Stu | April 13, 2022 | September 16, 2022 | 156 |
Morbius | April 1, 2022 | September 7, 2022 | 159 |
Uncharted | February 18, 2022 | August 5, 2022 | 168 |
That said, fans can expect Spider-Verse to follow suit. So, it may be on Netflix in late September or early October this year after it was released in theaters on June 2. But knowing how big of a movie this is, Sony may delay its streaming release to earn from its digital and physical sales more.

When will Spider-Verse 2 be on Disney+?
So, after Spider-Verse 2 hits Netflix, it will go to Disney+. The streaming service and Sony have created a deal to bring the latter’s Spider-Man-related movies to the service in the post-Pay 1 window—18 months after being on Netflix.
This will begin with the 2022 Marvel line-up, which means it only includes Morbius. This deal will run until 2026, so it will involve Spider-Verse 2.
However, Spider-Verse 2 can only head to Disney+ after it releases on Netflix. If the animated movie arrives on Netflix this month or the next, it may come to Disney+ in March or April 2025. So, it will be a long wait before it finally happens.
