The wait for more Spice and Wolf just got a little easier. A brand-new teaser trailer for Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Season 2 debuted during the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival Online 2026 livestream on October 3, confirming the series will return in 2027.
The teaser was unveiled alongside the announcement on the anime's official X account, giving fans their first look at Holo and Lawrence's next destination — and the arrival of a familiar face: Eve Bolan, with Romi Park reprising the role she originated in the original Spice and Wolf anime.
The short preview offers a first glimpse of where the merchant and the wisewolf are headed next, with Eve's debut signaling that the second season will push further into the beloved fantasy saga. Eve Bolan, a cunning merchant with her own agenda, is a fan-favorite figure from the novels, and her return — again voiced by Romi Park — is one of the teaser's biggest talking points.
The reveal came during the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival Online 2026, ASCII Media Works' annual showcase for its light novel labels, where the Spice and Wolf panel closed out the announcements with the teaser and the 2027 broadcast confirmation.

The returning staff includes directors Nobuyoshi Nagayama and Takahiro Majima at studio Passione, with Takeo Takahashi and Hijiri Sanpei serving as supervising directors. Koji Haneda and Satona Sugimoto handle character designs, while Kevin Penkin — known for his work on Made in Abyss and Tower of God — composes the music.
Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf is a remake of the 2008 Spice and Wolf anime, itself based on Isuna Hasekura's long-running light novel series, which has sold millions of copies worldwide since its 2006 debut. The remake's first season aired in 2024, retelling the story of Kraft Lawrence, a traveling merchant, and Holo, the ancient wisewolf who joins his journey north.
The series' official synopsis reads:
Lawrence is a traveling merchant selling various goods from a horse-drawn cart. One day, he arrives at a village and meets a beautiful girl with the ears and tail of an animal! Her name is Holo the Wisewolf and she brings bountiful harvests. She wishes to return to her homeland, and Lawrence offers to take her. Now, the once-lonely merchant and the once-lonely wisewolf begin their journey north.
Crunchyroll streams the remake's first season as well as the original series. A streaming home for Season 2 has not been announced yet, but with the first season already on the platform, Crunchyroll is the likely destination when the show returns in 2027.
