Sound! Euphonium Season 3 sees the return of Kumiko Kiumae as she fights to win the gold medal at the national tournament.

Kumiko Kiumae returns to the small screen next year in the upcoming Sound! Euphonium Season 3. With over 90 members, the Kitauji High School Brass Band, with Kumiko in the lead, vies to win the gold medal at the national tournament. The anime has now released its first trailer, teasing the beginning of new music. You can see the preview below:

The trailer begins with Kumiko narrating that she was appointed as the president of the Kitauji High School Brass Band after the seniors retired while the group played in the background. As her junior year in high school begins, she imagines her band performing at the nationals.

She wonders what their first sound would be, as she looks forward to winning the gold at the finals. From there, the newcomer, Mayu Koroe, enters the scene, introducing herself to Kumiko. While at school, Mayu tells Komiko she wants to play the euphonium, which surprises the latter. As this year will be her last, she teases that the next music will begin.

What is Sound! Euphonium Season 3 about?

Sound! Euphonium Season 3 will see Kumiko as the club director of the Kitauji High School Brass Band, which now has over 90 members. As she works on the final club activities of her high school life, she’s willing to do everything to win the gold medal at the national tournament.

The Kitauji High School Brass Band has over 90 members in total. Kumiko Kiumae, who has been appointed as the club director, rushes through the final club activities of her high school life in order to win the gold medal at the national tournament, which is her long-cherished desire!

The anime is based on the Japanese novel series of the same name by Ayano Takeda, which ran from December 2013 to June 2019, with 12 volumes. It was then adapted into manga with illustrations by Hami and serialized on Kono Manga ga Sugoi! website from November 2014 to October 2015 with three volumes.

Kyoto Animation works on its anime adaptation, with the first season released in 2015 and the second season in 2016. The studio also produced two animated films, Liz and the Blue Bird and Sound! Euphonium: The Movie – Our Promise: A Brand New Day, released in 2018 and 2019, followed by an OVA Ensemble Contest in August 2023.
