Following the premiere the tenth episode of Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise From the Shadow- (Episode 22 overall) in Japan today, a new Pick Up Battle video has been released on Aniplex's official YouTube channel. The video reveals the intense fight between protagonist Sung Jin-woo and Goto Ryuji, the strongest hunter in Japan and the Guild Master of the Draw Saw Guild. The latest episode is titled We Need a Hero, and it officially kicked off the highly-anticipated Jeju Island Raid Arc.
While it's exciting to see the two S-Rank hunters clash in the latest episode of Solo Leveling Season 2, it's a bit disappointing to see that the end of this fight was anti-climactic as the other S-Rank hunters restrained them from continuing the clash. There are only three new episodes left after today's episode, so we can expect bigger battles before Season 2 concludes.
Solo Leveling Season 1 premiered in Japan on January 6, 2024. Studio A-1 Pictures, which produced the first season, returned to produce the animation of the Season 2, with Shunsuke Nakashige as director, and Noboru Kimura as series composer. Tomoko Sudo is in charge of the character designs while Hiroyuki Sawano in composing the sequel's music.
What is Solo Leveling Season 2 about?
Solo Leveling is based on the South Korean portal fantasy web novel series written by Chugong and illustrated by DUBU, which launched on Webtoon services in March 2018 and ended in December 2021. The manhwa and original novel series is being published by Yen Press in English, and the Japanese version is published by Kadokawa under the title Ore Dake Level-Up na Ken (I'm the Only One Who Has Leveled Up).

It's been over ten years since gates that lead to another dimension have begun appearing across the world. The battles between the magic beasts inhabiting the dungeons through the gates and the human hunters who have awakened the abilities to fight them show no signs of ending. Ordinarily, a hunter's abilities do not change upon awakening, with their rank never increasing. However, the low-ranked Sung Jinwoo, known as 'The Weakest Hunter of All Mankind,' gained the ability to level up through battle during a raid on a double dungeon. Having completed a job-change quest that earned him the job 'Shadow Monarch' and command over an army of shadows, Jinwoo heads into battle seeking the ingredients for the Elixir of Life to save his sick mother.
