After featuring a recap episode last week, Solo Leveling is back to its usual programming. Sung Jinwoo will continue training under the System to improve his powers and abilities. In fact, in the preview for Solo Leveling Episode 8, This is Frustrating, he’s about to enter a D-class dungeon after getting an invite from the Hunter Association.

Though the new stills just feature the characters who will be seen in Solo Leveling Episode 8, they’re enough to excite fans of what’s to come. It starts with Choi Jong-in, an S-Rank Hunter specializing in fire magic and the Guild Master of the Hunters Guild. It’s followed by Baek Yoonho, another S-Rank Hunter with transformation magic and the Guild Master of the White Tiger Guild.

The preview also features the return of Lee Joohee, the B-Rank healer and Jinwoo’s old friend. They will be joined by Kang Taeshik, a hitman and the Korean Hunter Association’s Surveillance Team inspector. Of course, these stills will never be complete without a glimpse of Jinwoo, as he once again has that fierce look in his eyes.

What to Expect from Solo Leveling Episode 8

After defeating the hell’s gatekeeper, Cerberus, in Episode 7, Jinwoo saw the pattern for the Elixir of Life.
With its ability to cure any illness, this drug is what he needs for his mother. In Solo Leveling Episode 8, he’s about to see this sacred water of life displayed in the window. However, he must go on a dangerous quest in the Demon’s Castle to obtain the three items needed to craft it. From there, he will receive an invitation to the D-class dungeon and meet a surprising group member.

You can read the synopsis below:

What Shun seeks for his sick mother is the ``sacred water of life'' displayed in the window. However, taking on a quest that would give you the items to make it was tantamount to suicide at your current level. Just then, an invitation to the D-class dungeon arrives from the Hunter Association. Shun heads to the dungeon, but who is the person she meets there?

The anime is based on the South Korean web novel of the same title by Chugong. It was first serialized in KakaoPage in July 2016 and was published in print by D&C Media’s Papyrus in November 2016, licensed by Yen Press in English. After being adapted into a webtoon with illustrations by Jang Sung-rak (Dubu), its first season was published in March 2018, followed by a second season ending in December 2021. It collected nine volumes and was also licensed by Yen Press in English.

A-1 Pictures produced its anime adaptation, premiering in January 2024 and releasing seven episodes and one recap episode. With its success, a K-drama adaptation and a role-playing video game by Net Marble are now in development, while its spin-off webtoon, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, is set to be released this year.
