After a bloody previous episode, seeing Sung Jinwoo being left as a sacrifice to let Lee Joohee and others escape the dangerous dungeon, the upcoming Solo Leveling Episode 3, titled It’s Like a Game, will reveal the infamously weak E-Rank hunter’s fate. The anime has released the preview stills for the new episode, and it looks like Jinwoo is all fine despite losing his limbs and is waiting to die as the God of Statue is about to swing its sword directly at him.

The Solo Leveling Episode 3 preview shows Jinwoo waking up at the hospital after the horrific fight at the dungeon. The next still features Woo Jinchul, the A-Rank Hunter and Chairman of the Korean Hunters Association, seemingly visiting him at the hospice. It’s followed by a glimpse of Jinwoo’s sister, Sung Jinah, and by the looks of it, she’s both surprised and worried to see his brother.

Jinwoo then appears shocked and afraid as he’s out and about after seeing what’s in front of him. And for the last still, the series’ protagonist looks determined as he’s back to his regular clothes and is ready to fight again as he’s about to leave the hospital.

What to Expect from Solo Leveling Episode 3

After being left alone in the dungeon in the previous episode, Jinwoo is expected to die in the hands of the Statue of God after that major cliffhanger. However, in a mysterious twist of fate, he’s alive and well in Solo Leveling Episode 3. Jinwoo will be waking up in the hospital bed after the terrible event at the dungeon. The limbs that he thought he had lost are back. While he’s also wondering what happened, a window only visible to him appears.

You can read the synopsis below:

Shun remains alone in the temple dungeon in order to save his few surviving companions. I was supposed to have died from the sword swung down by the god-like monster, but when I woke up, I woke up in a hospital bed. The limbs that he thought he lost in the dungeon are back to normal, and just as Shun is unable to accept the situation, a ‘window’ that only he can see appears.

The anime is based on the South Korean web novel of the same name by Chugong. It was first serialized in KakaoPage in July 2016 before it was published in full by D&C Media under its Papyrus label in November of the same year. It’s licensed in English by Yen Press. A webtoon adaptation started in KakaoPage in March 2018, illustrated by the Redice Studio CEO Jang Sung-rak, aka Dubu, with the second season released in August 2020 and concluded in December 2021 with 179 chapters. The webtoon is also licensed in English by Yen Press.

In addition, a role-playing video game is now in the works at Netmarble, while a K-drama adaptation is also in development. Its webtoon spin-off, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, is scheduled for release in 2024. It was also adapted into anime by A-1 Pictures, premiering in January 2024, with two episodes already released.
