Over a decade after its first serialization, Hiroyuki Takei’s Shaman King: Flowers will finally hit the small screen. A sequel to the original manga Shaman King, fans are about to see new and returning characters, and the anime’s second trailer introduces Yohsuke Kamogawa. Originally appearing in Yahabe, he has to use Fra YVS’s power to see spirits, as he has no shamanic abilities. You can see the preview below:

The Shaman King: Flowers trailer begins with Hao Asakura becoming the Shaman King. But years after the Shaman Fight, it then introduces Hana Asakura, Yoh Asakura and Anna’s son, and the main heir to the Asakura Family after his father.

However, he admits that he can't find any use for his powers or the power of his Oversoul, putting him in agony. As the spirits are forbidden, an enemy appears in the scene, showing Haba Asakura, King Asakura’s descendant. As he has come to kill Hana, he swears not to let it happen, as he declares his boring life is finally over and unleashes his power.

Later, Yohsuke Kamogawa appears, promising to give Hana a wonderful new world full of money. It also shows Fra YVS, the Shaman King of AD 1500, as a golden pyramid with two arms, two legs, and one green eye. “This world is perfect,” YVS says.

What is Shaman King: Flowers about?

Shaman King: Flowers tells the story of Hana, Yoh and Anna’s son, 16 years after the Shaman Fight. Hana has become a lazy and brutal kid who doesn’t care about his studies, gets into fights, and is bored with his life. However, things are about to change when other Asakura family members, Yohane and Luca, arrive to kill him and his dad to take their place. Hana will learn the power of the Flower of Maize, a proxy battle between Hao and the former Shaman King, YVS, to defend themselves.

You can read the synopsis below:

Hana Asakura finds that being the son of Yoh & Anna Asakura isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and his boredom has him itching for any excitement. But when a fight comes straight to his doorstep, it’s from a place he least expects—his own family? The battle for Asakura supremacy begins!

Based on the manga of the same name by Hiroyuki Takei, it started its serialization in April 2012 and only ran until 2014 with six tankobon volumes. Kodansha republished its volumes digitally in 2019, while its English version was released between October and December 2022. It was adapted into anime by Bridge.
