There is little doubt that Secret Invasion had a lot of shocking moments but you can't forget the first one. In the premiere episode, Gravik and his men wreak havoc during Unity Day in Russia and the villain shoots Maria Hill in front of Nick Fury. Although fans were hoping that she would somehow survive, the series would prove that the former SHIELD agent was truly dead.

But is this truly the last we've seen of Maria Hill? Secret Invasion director Ali Selim weighed in on the possibility that she will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Interestingly, Selim may have confirmed that Hill could be brought back in the future.

Ali Selim spoke to Entertainment Weekly about what happened in Secret Invasion. The director admitted that he is uncertain about Maria Hill and Talos, who was also killed in Episode 4. However, Selim did point out that "anything can happen" in the MCU.

"I don't know what's going to happen to Maria Hill or Talos. They're dead. One is burned, and the other is buried. But in the MCU, anything can happen. So, where are they going to end up? I don't know," Selim said.

It's an interesting tease considering that people are still not over Maria's shocking death. So is it possible that she will be brought back in a future MCU project? For now, it seems the death was a permanent one but we wouldn't be surprised if Maria returns in some way.
