Netflix has finally dropped the first teaser for Ripley, the TV adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s 1995 crime novel The Talented Mr. Ripley. After being in the works for three years and originally pitched to Showtime, the show has finally seen the light of day and will soon hit the small screen. The preview shows Andrew Scott as Tom Ripley, a 1960s con man in action. You can see the teaser below:
The Ripley teaser is every inch enigmatic with its black-and-white settings as a man reveals how hard to find Tom is. He has no address, phone, or office as a con man. From there, Tom starts his tricks, making his own passport and revealing how elusive he can be as people start calling his name. And true to the series' fasion, everything about him can be deceiving.

Who are in the cast of Ripley?
Andrew Scott, who also serves as the series producer, plays the titular role of Tom Ripley in Ripley. For other cast members, you can check the list below:
Johnny Flynn as Dickie Greenleaf, a vagabond son who Tom is trying to lure to go home
Dakota Fanning as Marge Sherwood, Dickie’s girlfriend, who has been suspecting Tom.
Eliot Sumner, in a yet-to-be-named role
Talking about his role, Scott told Vanity Fair in December that portraying Tom was a “heavy part to play” physically and mentally. Considering people already know who Tom is, he had to throw all those ideas out and create his own version and understanding of the character. However, it didn’t come easy for the Fleabag star, as there were things he couldn’t understand and the “blankness” he sometimes found hard to engage with.
