Kora and her revolutionary group will return to Veldt to continue their fight against the ruthless forces of the Motherworld in Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver. But besides the epic movie’s second installment, fans have been waiting to see these two films’ director’s cuts. By the looks of it, it will soon happen as director Zack Snyder finally reveals their release window and jaw-dropping runtime.

In an interview with I Minutemen, Snyder hinted that the directors’ cuts would be released at the same time as Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver. Though he didn’t reveal the exact release date, he said it would be in the summer.

“We don't have a date yet, but I think it's going to be, you know, in the summer,” he said.

The filmmaker continued that the directors’ cuts would be an hour longer each than the original films. So, if Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire runs for over two hours and the second movie is expected to be the same, the directors’ cuts would run for a whopping six hours altogether.

I think it's interesting because you'll get to see, you know, they reach like about an hour longer than the original, other than the PG-13, whatever. So, it would be nice to see the six hours together.

What will the Rebel Moon Directors’ Cuts feature?

Though Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire received mixed reviews, it couldn’t be denied that it was a success on Netflix, topping its Global Top 10 Films (English) list from December 25-31, 2023, with 34 million views. It was also the number-one film in 93 countries and stayed on the list for a month. Though it already stunned fans with epic space opera, Snyder revealed that the directors’ cuts would feature more sci-fi.

“I think that the director's cut sort of contains a slightly more sort of sci-fi, deconstructive element,” he told Comicbook.

While thinking of the movies, the Justice League director admitted wanting them to have irony like heavy metal, more violent, super sexual, and visually gigantic. He continued that these films cost a lot of money to make. So, with their big commercial appeal, he didn’t make it “too niche,” and the director’s cuts would be weirder, “more personal, and bizarre.”

What is Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver about?

Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver will continue where the first movie ended. When Kora and her recruits think Admiral Atticus Noble is dead, he will return with the Imperium legion. The group will once again fight together to free the people of Veldt from the threat of the Motherworld. But besides the villagers, Kora and the rest of the fighters must also free themselves from their pasts.

You can read the synopsis below:

Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver continues the epic saga of Kora and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting alongside the brave people of Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, a newfound homeland for those who have lost their own in the fight against the Motherworld. On the eve of their battle, the warriors must face the truths of their own pasts, each revealing why they fight. As the full force of the Realm bears down on the burgeoning rebellion, unbreakable bonds are forged, heroes emerge, and legends are made.
