The anime adaptation of Tappei Nagatsuki's Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- light novel series will finally return later this year with brand new episodes. Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3 is one of the highly-anticipated isekai anime shows coming this year, joining the strong lineup of 2024 isekai titles that include Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Part 2, KonoSuba: God's blessing on this wonderful world!, and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3.
Of course, fans are excited to see what's next for Subaru in the third season, and Crunchyroll has announced that the streaming platform will be the home of Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3. The isekai anime is slated to return in October 2024, and now we know where fans in North America and other regions, where Crunchyroll is available, will be able to watch Re:Zero Season 3. Crunchyroll released a new trailer for Re:Zero Season 3 along with the announcement:
Crunchyroll's confirmation of Re:Zero's return on its platform shouldn't surprise fans as the first two seasons of the anime and the OVAs are available to stream on its platform. Studio White Fox animated the first two seasons of Re:Zero anime, which premiered in 2016 and 2020, respectively, with the second season having a split-cour format (the second cour premiered in July 2021), and the animation studio will return to animate the third season. Masahiro Shinohara is directing the new season, with Haruka Sagawa as the character designer.
What will Re:Zero Season 3 adapt?
Re:Zero Season 3 will adapt The Stars That Engrave History Arc, which begins in Volume 16 of the light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Ootsuka. The official plot description for Vol. 16 reads:
