Netflix has recently released Ragnarok Season 3, and considering it only has six episodes, fans have probably watched them all by now. That said, many wonder if there will be a chance that Magne and Laurit’s battle against the giants in the fictional Norwegian town of Edda will continue in Ragnarok Season 4.

Created by Adam Price, Ragnarok is an original Netflix series that turns Norse mythology into a modern coming-of-age drama. Aside from Magne and Laurit’s personal issues, the show also tackles pollution, climate change, and a family of giants that try to ruin Edda. It follows the story of the teenage boy Magne, who turns out to be the reincarnation of Thor, the god of thunder, and Laurit, who ends up being Loki, the god of mischief.

Since it premiered in 2020, the show has become a global hit, thanks to its dark humor and modern plot of ancient Nordic myth. With its success, will Netflix renew the series for a fourth season?

Will there be Ragnarok Season 4?

When Netflix revealed Ragnarok Season 3’s release date, it confirmed it would be the series’ last and final season. “Everything has led to this,” the service said in a statement. “As an epic final battle of gods against giants draws near, Magne's fortitude will face its ultimate trial.”

The show’s cast members, from Herman Tømmeraas to Jonas Stand Gravli to Danu Sunth and more, have also confirmed that the third season would be the last time they would do the show together. “Third season will be the last season,” Gravil said.

Hence, there may be no chance that Netflix may order Ragnarok Season 4, especially since it has given Magne’s story a satisfying ending. But who knows, if the third season has become a big hit, there may be a major twist in its story that may happen.

What is Ragnarok Season 3 about?

Ragnarok Season 3 features the issues of climate crisis, corruption, and dark secrets surrounding the sinister Scandinavian town. But compared to the previous season, lives are now in danger in the final chapter.

There will be fights between gods and giants. Magne and Laurits face each other, too, which puts the world at stake. You can read the synopsis below:

“But as Season 3 begins, the battle is back on. Magne has forged his mightiest weapon yet — a hammer that he names after the one Thor used (Mjölnir). He’s turning to modern tools to fight the Jutuls too, determined to expose their role in a series of deaths and life-threatening illnesses. Meanwhile, Laurits’ allegiance is torn between the opposite ends of his family trees — and he’s enlisted the aid of another supernatural being to help him, an all-powerful sea serpent.”
