The Queen of Tears trailer starts with a closer look at Soo-hyun and Ji-won. The two look so loved up as several of their romantic scenes play out. But as Soo-hyun tries to kiss Ji-won while she’s sleeping, the latter questions him. Ji-won then talks about marriage, remembering the saying that it’s like “turning on the air conditioner on a summer night.” “You can never find the right temperature,” she says, hinting at their marital woes.

But as the couple starts to fight, Soo-hyun drinks and cries while blaming himself for messing up his life. From there, he considers divorce, though afraid that his wife will get mad and kill him. However, contrary to what Soo-hyun believes in, Ji-won is scared, too. From there, things start to get different as Soo-hyun sees Ji-won with another man. As jealousy kicks in, the pair realizes they still have feelings for each other.
