Song Joong-ki and Kim Ji-won have their own K-drama series and movie premiering on Netflix next month. As many are already waiting for their TV return, fans are about to see them together on one screen. News emerged that Joong-ki would make a special cameo in Ji-won’s upcoming series, Queen of Tears, with Kim Soo-Hyun.

Queen of Tears will feature the reunion of Joong-ki and Ji-won after working together in KBS 2TV’s Descendants of the Sun and tvN’s Arthdal Chronicles Season 1. According to Xports News, as covered by Naver *translated by Soompi), Song Hye-kyo’s former husband just finished filming his special appearance in the series. However, details about his role remain to be seen.

“Song Joong-ki will make a special appearance in Queen of Tears,” a representative said.

Joong-ki’s appearance is said to be made possible through his connection to Ji-won. Aside from working together, they have been under the same agency, HighZium Studio, since 2022. Their first meeting reportedly happened in the 2009 drama Will It Snow for Christmas?

Joong-ki’s new K-movie, My Name is Loh Kiwan, is also set to release on Netflix in March. This time, viewers are about to see him as a North Korean defector trying to obtain refugee status in Belgium. He will play the titular role alongside Choi Sung-eun as Mari.

What is Queen of Tears about?
