Netflix is now gearing up for the return of its hit Korean reality competition series. After announcing the release date of Physical: 100 Season 2 – Underground, the streamer has revealed the contenders for its first group called The Warriors. Composed of bodybuilders, martial artists, and officers, this group looks strong enough to intimidate other contestants.
Netflix’s K-content page on X (formerly Twitter) drops a teaser for the Physical: 100 Season 2 – Underground’s Group 1: The Warriors. As described by the service, this group makes survival a part of their everyday lives as “tried-and-tested combatants.”
They are composed of the famed martial artist Kim Dong-hyun, former firefighter Hong Beom-seok, mixed martial arts and MMA fighters Sim Yu-ri, Seol Young-ho and Jo Sung-bin, Korean Coast Guard officers Kang Cheong-myeong and Park Woo-jin, and bodybuilders Lim Soo-jin, Jang Sung-yeop, Lee Hyun-woo, Kang Eun-hee, Kim Nam-wook, and Kim Min-su. It includes reserve Sergeant First Class Ku Sung-hoe, special operation unit member Ko Jong-hun, United States Army Officer Gibson, and police officer Ham Young-jin. In addition, the group features FBI diplomat Hunter Lee and firefighter and paramedic Hwang Mun-kyeong.
What is Physical: 100 Season 2 – Underground about?
Netflix promises Physical: 100 Season 2 – Underground to be even bigger, with higher stakes, harder challenges, and a new arena, a massive mine that will be more extensive. Like in the first season, 100 contestants of all ages, gender identities, and fitness backgrounds will compete to complete various quests to determine who has the perfect physique.
The show’s producer, Jang Ho-gi, said (via AllKpop) that the second season would be “inspired by the underworld, especially underground mines.” It will try to define the meaning behind “perfect physicality” and the realities the challengers face to prove the concept. Hence, there will be more challenging quests featuring unexpected twists that they have to go through.
